The meeting was focused to introduce DNV delegates to Shipdex™ Protocol (the electronic protocol to exchange technical information in a standardised format among the shipping community).
Marco Vatteroni (Shipdex™ technical manager and Spectec ILS manager) made a technical overview of Shipdex™, followed by some practical demonstrations.
During the presentation several questions were asked by DNV delegates leaded by Mr. Tore Hartvigsen to clarify the most important Shipdex™ topics. An initial evaluation of possible points of contacts between Shipdex™ Protocol and DNV activities and standard was made as well.
The 4 hours meeting was closed with the intention to organise a new meeting with a focused group to evaluate DNV interest to participate and contribute to the development of the Shipdex™ Protocol.
